Fern Hill - Sedbergh Exchange Was a Big Success!
Last week, we traveled to Montebello, Quebec to participate in a Young Round Square Exchange hosted by Sedbergh School. We had an excellent time! First of all, we loved the fact that all the students at Sedbergh have the opportunity to do many outdoor activities such as cross country skiing. We thought this was a great part of the daily school schedule. Where we live, we don’t have these opportunities, since many kids after school would rather stay inside instead of enjoying the beautiful outdoors that we also have in Ontario. Sedbergh takes advantage of the property that they have. For example, they use an environmental center and do many outdoor sports.
Traveling to Sedbergh was an eye opening experience and an opportunity to learn about a different school. They accept all different nationalities which we enjoyed seeing also. We liked how if students didn’t feel they had success in academics, there were many other things that they could try to succeed in. It was certainly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. It was very rewarding for us and it helped us realize what we are capable of. It boosted our confidence in everything we did, including all the amazing extracurricular activities.
We also appreciated how welcoming the school was to us. It made us feel very comfortable. One thing that we loved about this boarding school was how everyone was like one big family, including all the exchange students. We will remember this forever and keep everything we learned from this experience in our hearts to help us throughout our lives later on. We would also like to thank Miss Gibb for always being there with us and doing everything for us even though she wasn’t feeling very well.
Thank you!
